Jerry Bean owns and operates CHEERS. He loves the sea and enjoy people. Jerry is keen on music and quick of wit. Like Jimmy Buffett, he facetiously alludes himself as a "pirate born 200 years too late." Prior to becoming a full-time sailor, he spent eight summers chartering in the Bahamas, Virgins and Leewards. Jerry also has spent twenty-two years in higher education and holds a Masters Degree in sports Psychology. He coached and 18 track and field All-American and four Olympic class athletes. Your host has led sailing cruises in the Caribbean for the past 11 years. He is knowledgeable and outgoing. Your vacation and cruise will be safe and memorable.
Built by Jeanneau of France, designed by Phillipe Braind, and commissioned in 1986, CHEERS is a spinnaker-rigged 40-foot sloop. She is a performance cruising yacht with a displacement of 8.1 tons and a draft of 6.4, making her quick and stable. From the low freeboard and graceful sheerline to the reverse transom,this spacious 3 private cabin/2 head layout is sleek and racy. Crafted in teak throughout, her salon is accented in brass and navy blue furnishings.
The L-shaped galley is equipped with 12V refrigeration and a propane stove/oven. CHEERS is a fully founded vessel with appointments extending beyond the average charter boat. Her auxiliary engine is a Perkins diesel and she is loaded with safety equipment and electronics - radar, auto-pilot and SAT-NAV to mention a few. Her huge cockpit allows you free movement under sail and comfortable moonlight dining. CHEERS' deck space provides you ample room for sunbathing and relaxing. CHEERS can also provide instructional sailing cruises. Guests still tour the islands but learn how to sail as well. For this option guest pay the regular week rate for either all inclusive or Captain and Yacht plus a $200 per person charge for those opting for instruction (minimum of two). For example a four person instruction cruise where only two opted for instruction the charges for lessons would be $400.

This exciting land and sea package includes 4 luxurious nights in the brand new 3 story Lighthouse Villas and three nights on the magnificent Cheers sailing yacht. The Lighthouse Villas overlook beautiful Cane Garden Bay on the Island of Tortola, the Capitol of the BVI. There are five great restaurants and beach bars in Cane Garden Bay offering live entertainment. Road Town, the Capitol City of the BVI (also on Tortola) is about 30 minutes away by car. While on CHEERS, you can cruise and visit the other islands of the BVI, savor the tranquility of pristine anchorages, and bask in the glory of sailing in the Caribbean's temperate waters.
