"Stone Offerings: Machu
Picchu's Terraces of Enlightenment"
Book Review
Machu Picchu in Peru is one of the world's most enchanting and mystical places and if there was any doubt "Stone Offerings"
by Mike Torrey (Lightpoint Press, $40.00, 144 over-sized pages) puts
all those unfounded doubts to rest.
Peruvian writer and National Book Award finalist,
Marie Arana, provides and insightful intro to the book and to the
spellbinding images Torry, a Southern California-based architectural
photographer.
As one of us who builds and repairs stone walls and
lives in the mountains and also takes photographs, I have a special
interest in the subject matter of the book. But the photographic
skills and the sights captured by Torrey far surpass the ordinary
person's limited scope.
Nevertheless, I as well as all who read this book,
keep it on a coffee table for browsing, study page after page of
unique visions will come away the better for it.
"Stone Offerings: Machu Picchu's Terraces of
Enlightenment" is highly recommended.
